Distressed Property (Gross Filth Cleanup)


Gross filth typically involves a building or residence that a reasonable person would find uninhabitable due to a combination of fecal matter, bodily fluids, excessive trash, expired food, odor, boxed items, mold, mildew, etc.

The task of cleaning an area of gross filth can be challenging and often impossible for an individual untrained in decontamination and odor removal.  In addition, those tasked with such a job must be trained in locating and safely eliminating biohazards.  Blood, mold, mildew, asbestos and fecal matter can contribute to serious illnesses if proper precautions are not taken while cleaning a gross filth site.

Technicians with Bio-Trauma 911, Inc. will use proper tools and chemicals to eliminate all potential hazards within a gross filth site.  Only after an area has been completely decontaminated will our technicians begin the cleanup process.

What's Involved?
Crime & trauma scene cleanup involves the following:
  • Evaluate the scene
  • Decontaminate the environment
  • Locate all sources of contaminates
  • Decontaminate once again
  • Cut and remove all sources of contaminates (check sub floors, walls, studs, mattress springs, rooms below and adjoining the contaminated area, etc.)
  • Bag and properly dispose of all bio-hazardous materials
  • Use chemicals to find trace amounts of bio-hazards previously undetected
  • Remove any microscopic elements that remain
  • Treat environment for odors
  • Disinfect or dispose of all tools and equipment
